Orange cake with sugar icing

A truly great cake, which will be appreciated by every person with a sweet tooth.

There is an ingredient that makes this cake special, and it is Tanheiser Kraftbeer Honey.

It gives a special note to the cake – the subtle, but very characteristic Kraftbeer Honey scent.

Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 250g flour
    • 250g sugar
    • 3 eggs
    • 100ml orange juice
    • 100ml Tanheiser Kraftbeer Honey
    • grated zest of 2 oranges
  • 40g butter or coconut oil
    • 3 tbsp. olive oil
    • 1/2 tsp. vanilla sugar
    • 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Glaze:

  • 300g powdered sugar
    • 5 tbsp. orange juice

Preparation

Grate zest from the oranges, and squeeze orange juice. Line a cake pan with parchment paper. Heat oven to 180 degrees.

Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar. Then add flour, baking powder, and mix everything together. Add beer, freshly squeezed orange juice, grated orange zest, olive oil, butter or coconut oil, and mix thoroughly.

Pour the dough in the cake pan, and bake in the oven for 45-50 min. Use the toothpick to check if the cake is done. Take the cake out of the oven, and let it cool.

Prepare glaze. Pour icing sugar into a bowl and add 5 tbsp. orange juice. Mix until the mass becomes homogeneous. If necessary, add more juice, but it should be added very carefully – a little too much, and the glaze will flow.

Turn the already cooled cake upside down, and put it on a beautiful plate.

Put the glaze on top of the cake, aligning it slightly with a spatula. Glaze itself will run along the edges, and after 20 minutes it will harden. If desired, the cake can be decorated.
